It is very clear that we are in a "Neo-Baroque" era. A good example of this is "Tomorrow Land," which is the largest music festival in the world. Since 2005 it has taken place every summer in Belgium. Every year more and more headline DJ's are added included some of the largest names in electronic music, such as Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Skrillex, Hardwell, Steve Aoiki, Afrojak and Avicii. 400 DJ's were invited in the summer of 2012. 180,000 people were in attendance, each ticket costing 198 euros. This festival is so famous because of how impressive the stage, production, story, and light shows are. This shows how baroque we are becoming because the amount of eye candy and music that is produced which attracts an amazing amount of people every year. here is a video to show you just how crazy this festival is. Video... You can see how there are dancers, crazy artwork, fire, and lights. Providing the crowd with ultimate entertainment. With yearly festivals like this and many others, such as, ULTRA, EDC,and Identity Festival, it is somewhat hard to believe we are actually in a recession.

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Tampa. I am 20 years old and I am from a tiny island off of Massachusetts called Nantucket. With only 10,000 residents during the winter, it is very peaceful. During the summer it is a huge tourist attraction with over 50,000 visitors. I love being outside. Especially at the beach or in the woods. I guess growing up on a secluded island made me somewhat adventurous, my ultimate dream would be to travel the world. I also enjoy the night life in Tampa. There are endless places to go to and it is always a good time. I'm from New England so of course I and forever will be a Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins fan. I decided to take this class because I recently changed my major to 'New Media Production.' I feel as though I can be creative at times and studying art and technology should bring out my hidden talents. I also have never blogged before, so this should be interesting. I am excited for what is to come.
